Recover to new hard disk

Thread needs solution

I have an Acronis 2011 Home image file of the system partition on DVD disk. I’m planning to add a second hard drive. How can I recover the image file to a new hard disk? Does Acronis support SSDs? My OS is Win 7, 64 bit. I'm now using Acronis 2012.

An image of the system partition only and other partition exist on the disk, then no, you backup is probably not sufficient to create a replacement (SATA or SSD) but it would depend upon your disk configuration as to whether drive C is the actual boot partition. Post a screen capture of your disk as seen in the Windows Disk Management console graphical view. This view shows a picture of all partitions and will identify which partition is the active partition.
