Recovering from crash

Thread needs solution

I had a BSOD crash and when the PC rebooted one of my partitions was missing. Win7 Disk Manager shows this partition as "free space".

I have a single disk with partitions C,D,E. The E is missing.

I have the disk's full backup but as it's not so recent I would prefer trying to restore it.
Is there a way?
I tried to restore only the disk's MBR but this doesn't to work either.

Thanks for any feedback.

If your backup included the entire contents of the hard drive (all partitions), then the easiest method of recovery is to follow item #2 at the link below and perform a disk option restore. Be SURE to perform the "Recover Disk Signature" option as shown in the guide.

Thanks Grover, that's very interesting, I wasn't aware of this option.
I first tried to restore the MBR but didn't work.

Finally, before reading your message, I managed to mount the partition with "Find and Mount" and then to correctly restore it with a Partition management programme.

Again, many thanks for your precious assistance!
