Recovering a partition wihin ATI 2014 application while running under Windows

Thread needs solution

I have noticed that it is recommended that partition recovery be done with external bootable recovery media rather than within the Acronis True Image 2014 application. If true, what then is the purpose/or usefulness of providing a means of recovering a partition within the ATI 2014 application when running under windows? Is there a difference in the reliability of recovery or other factors?

The recommendation is to lessen possible data corruption which can occur when performing disk level functions on a "lLIVE" (active) disk. The reality is that when performing such a recovery the app will require a reboot. Once initiated the machine will reboot into a Linux environment to do the recovery. This may not work in all cases as some machines have issue running the Linux recovery so it is best practice then to create that environment on a removable media (CD, USB thumb drive), configure your machine to boot from that media and go from there. Much safer all around.
