Recovery After Failed Win 10 Install
HI: hope someone can help. Have Acronis TI 2014. Ran full backup on external drive on my Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 Win 8.1 System, that has a 250 GB SSD (about 80 GB used). Then I installed Win 10 and have problems so I want to go back to win 8.1.
I can boot off an external DVD drive and use the recover Boot CD. However, it fails to restore and the log file says a Resize is impossible with error, error message 0x70008. I want to restore the entire SSD. What am I doing wrong? Do I delete the existing partitions?
I have run this program once before when I had a problem with Lenovo software but it was over the existing Win 8.1 (not Win 10 that I now have). Am stumped. Has Win 10 done something like changing drive letters?
After failure it also says "Local Volume letters may be different than those in Windows".
Thnx for help. Should have stayed away from Win 10 on this sophisticated laptop. Win 10 runs fine on other PC's but not the Lenovo so I need to go back.
