Recovery Boot Disk ends up with a Black Screen
When I boot to the Recovery Disk, I get the following:
1. Starting Acronis Loader ...
2. Screen with 3 selections: TI, Drive Cleaner, or Windows
3. When I select TI, another Acronis Splash Screen
4. Then a Black Screen with no further action
A Recovery Disk from ISO image, gave me the same results.
I don't get a selection screen advising Full, Safe, or Boot in Windows, therefore can't follow instructions provided in the forum knowledge base 2995.
I'm using TI Home version 11.0 (build 8,053)
Any thoughts on what else I can try?
Thanks,
Ron

You might try using the latest build for your language. In the U.S. its build 8101 for True Image 11. I don't recall any problems with it. Safe mode requires installing a separate download which is available.

Thank you DwnNDrty and Bruce for your advice.
I disconnected all devices except for my ethernet, monitor, and PS/2 keyboard. Still no luck.
BTW, is it feasible to download a trial version of TI Home 2010, create a bootable rescue disk, and see if this works on my hardware? If this worked, then I would update to 2010.

Yes, that's the purpose of Acronis providing a Trial version - to see if it will work for you before paying for it. Be aware though that the bootable Rescue CD of the Trial doesn't do Backup, only Restore. But you can make a backup using the installed Trial.

Hello RonK,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
I have sent you ISO image of Acronis bootable disc based on different loader via PM. Check it and let us know the results.

Dimitry,
I was finally able to successfully use a bootable recovery disk after downloading the trial version of TI 2010. Everything has now been properly restored.
Thank you for the version 11.0 (Build 8101) ISO image. However, it behaved very strangely on my system in that it would go into an endless boot - reboot cycle, without ever completely entering the recovery disk program.
Looks like ver. 11.0 is a bust for this system, and I'll need to upgrade the TI software.
Cheers,
Ron
