Original image of the C: drive was made some time ago after I rebuilt the PC. Hoping that if PC failed I could just restore image.

Have you ever previously tried to boot from the True Image bootable Rescue Media?
Did you burn the ISO image to create a bootable disk, or did you simply copy the .iso to the DVD?

Hi,

thank you .

I have never tried to boot from Rescue media before.
I download and burnt the ISO to create a bootable media.

Eric,

If your copy of the older Rescue Media fails to work, sign up for the 2013 trial and register the trial serial number given to you into your Acronis account. You then will be able to download a disk image file (ISO) that can be used to create a bootable copy of the 2013 trial Rescue Media. You should be able to boot your system up to this Rescue Media and restore from your backup files.

You do not need to install the 2013 trial to use the bootable Rescue Media, as it is a standalone copy of True Image 2013 Trial Version.

The 2013 Trial version of the Rescue Media can only do restore/recovery, but may help in your case.
