recovery issue

Thread needs solution

running a recovery with True Image Home 2010 on an HP tx1000. Trying to restore disk/partition of 149 gig from WD 1 Terabyte USB external disk. Has been running over 6 hours and says time remaining is 13 hours. The progress bar is green over half way and the disk activity light is flashing as if there is activity. Is this normal for a task this size?

The restore time is very abnormal. A couple hours at most for a restore of that size.

Is the Rescue CD being use for the restore or are you attempting this from inside Windows?

Let the restore continue until completion.

Running from CD. Letting it run is the only way I'll ever see if Acronis will work for me or not.

Great. I'm glad that it completed.

The restore may have been actually using usb1. Next time, plus the usb cable into the back of the computer--if desktop. If other usb things connected, try to remove or disable. Avoid using a multi-port usb device.

What about the backup creation time. Is it reasonable?

Full backup is about 3 hours, and is about the same with other products. This is a notebook, and there are other usb devices which I can do the restore without.
