Recovery issue

Thread needs solution

We run an Acronis True Image 11.5 on a windows xp service park 2 in a local office. I installed a new hard drive seagate 500GHz because the original hard disk was corrupted. I then performed a recovery of the original hdd on the new hard disk from the backup tib located on an external hard drive. The recovery operation was successful but when the computer rebooted I got this error message: "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware." I would be thankful if a resolution can be provided. Thanks in anticipation.

Johnson, welcome to these User Forums.

I am not aware of an Acronis True Image 11.5 version of the product, there was version 11.0 or else there is Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5, which is a different / business product.

If you have Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 then you should open a new topic in the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 & 11 Forum where there will be users with experience of that particular product.

If you have ATI 11.0 then is the new Seagate 500GB drive the same type and capacity as the original drive being replaced?  Are both drives IDE / PATA drives?  Are both drives being connected to the same motherboard port & cable as the original drive was connected to?

Have you checked the BIOS Boot device settings to ensure that the new drive is selected?
