Recovery - System reserved partition was on a drive that failed

Thread needs solution

I need some help. I am trying to use the bootable media to restore my system. Windows 7 had put the Reserved Partition on my Drive Y: which just went up in smoke so Drive Y: is no longer there. When I upgraded to Win8 it left it there.

The recovery program sees the saved system partition and calls it Partition 1-1. It also sees the C: partition.

I need a step by step procedure of how to put Windows back on my C: drive and also how to put the System Reserved 100mb partition (and MBR?) on the C: drive as well.

Thanks a lot, getting desperate.

I want to add that Windows wouldn't boot after not including the System Reserved partition when I did a restore earlier. I thought I could fix it with the Windows installation disk.
Is it because the MBR has changed? I'm really a novice at this.
