Recovery to Windows 8

Thread needs solution

I am using a True Image Home 2011 on windows 7 computer.
I am planning to change the computer to a new one with windows 8. can i use the backup made from windows 7 to recover all system and data on windows 8?

You can use the images to recover files to your new install, but I would not recommend trying to recover core system components or system state to your new machine. There are too many variables to conisider.

If you have an image that contains your music, pictures and documents for example, no problem. Images can be browsed, and files recovered from them easily.

While you can use Acronis to assist with your migration, you cannot use it to replicate the system state between operating systems with different architectures. You might be dealing with different paths, registry values or other differences which cannot be overcome easily.
