Regular crash in "Wrapper for Parallels Report" process - prl_stat.exe
I recently started getting a regular crash in the "Wrapper for Parallels Report" process - prl_stat.exe
I'd like to send the crash information to Acronis so they can find and fix their bug, but it looks like I need to pay $9.95 per incident in order to do so. Yes, I understand I'll get reimbursed if it's found to be a bug, but crashes are ALWAYS a product bug, NEVER a user error, and therefore should always be free to report.
Have others seen crashes in prl_stat.exe and, if so, found a solution?

Charlotte,
Try to uninstall ATI 2011, then run the cleanup utility ( http://forum.acronis.com/forum/14906 ), then reboot and install 2011.

I recently suffered from the blue screen of death (BSOD) every time I started Windows 7 (64bit) normally. I used the Acronis bootup disk and tried to send the computer details which Acronis True Image 2011 gathers but the file was too large to be sent (23MB). However some patient searching enabled me to run my computer normally after I had stopped "prl_stat.exe" from running by renaming it to be a non-executable file.
I have since found the Acronis KB article 22114 as I had been experiencing this message prior to the BSOD incidents and I noted that one of the problems is that the validation still runs even though the drive cannot be accessed (in my case, probably because the particular drive was nearly full). I assume that this problem is related and the inability of True Image 2011 to access the drive is causing a fatal conflict in my operating system.
As long as I have prl_stat.exe disabled I can use my computer but I do not know what effect that has on running Acronis true image 2011 - I still am able to use True Image. I shall try the cleanup utility However, I am extremely unimpressed by the charge for advice from Acronis. I would have thought it reasonable to be able to forward the details of any crashes which appear to be related to running Acronis programs without incurring a charge, as Art Thomas has said.

Same problem here ! Started yesterday when closing windows.
Today the error appeared "while in the middle of something"
No idea what this damn thing Parallels Reports is supposed to do !
Maybe, just maybe ...
- Did we participate to the feature of sending automatic reports (intended to improve the product ?)
- Did we try to use "online backup" and do we keep suffering from leftovers after "expired" license of this add-on not being full part of the product ?
Anyway I have also a bsod, for almost every cold boot. I don't know if it is related to TIH2011 installation.
The workaround : First force XP to start in SafeMode (no need to login)
In SafeMode make a restart and XP then starts normally.
I fully agree on comments about Support policy of Acronis. By now, managment should be fully aware, but I don't think they care much. Again : availabilty of a frum is NOT to be considered a substitute for personal support. The Knowledge Base is not a structured Bible, but merely some strange assembly of reported problems (way too many serious problems)
The usual advice we get is to "uninstall-clean-reinstall" but who cares about the causes ?
Let me put it this way : there is no such thing as good software.

I still have that error message, with version 2011.
I did not upgraded to 'version 2012' , as I consider the attitudes of Acronis below level of normal product support expections.
Did anyone find a solution ?

For 2 months or so, I randomly have the same problem : prl_stat.exe - Application error with apparently no consequence.
Looks like it is related to hibernation : it very often accurs after returning from hibernation.
Can someone tell me how to disable this program ?

You can use the Acronis Schedule Manager to delete the prl_stat.exe task from the Acronis Scheduler.
http://kb.acronis.com/content/1859
Download the schedmgr.exe file saving to a location of your choice.
Open a command prompt and navigate to the location that contains the schedule manger (schedmgr.exe) and type schedmgr.exe and press enter.
At the schedule manager prompt, type the following command:
get list
(a list of scheduled tasks will display)
Make a note of the task number that contains the prl_stat.exe task (example task number: 1-5)
Type the following command
task 1-5 (substituting 1-5 with the task number from the list that contains prl_stat.exe) and press enter
(this selects the task number you enter, and the schedule manager prompt will change to include the selected task number)
(You can type "get task" and press enter, at this point to verify your selection)
Type the following command
task delete
(this deletes the selected task) Be sure you have selected the correct task, or you will delete one of your scheduled tasks.
Type the following command
exit
(This exits the schedule manager and returns you to a Windows command prompt.
Type "exit" and press enter to close the Windows command prompt.
The prl_stat.exe task will no longer run in the background. I have seen it re-schedule itself, so be sure to check using schedule manager if you start getting prl_stat.exe errors again..
