Remove a Full Backup from the Secure Zone

Thread needs solution

Hi: I have the latest downloadable version True Image Home 11(8101) on Xp. Sp3. I have 2 full backups in the secure zone and I would like to remove the old one without removing the entire zone. Can this easily be done? I have had this program for a while and have only used it for cloning a couple times so far. Other than that I haven't used it for backup and restore previously.
Thanks, John

Hello John Rooks,

Thank you for your post. I will be happy to assist you.

Acronis True Image 11 Home manages backups saved to the Acronis Secure Zone the following way. As soon as the ASZ runs out of space it will start overwriting the older backups.

As a workaround, I can suggest to save the backups not to the secure zone and then you can manage them in a more flexible way.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi Anton:
I have been away from this location for a while so I appologize for the delayed response. According to the help files which came with my True Image 11 there are certain things that can only be done in the secure zone (I think scheduled backups is one of those things if I remember correctly). If this is so I must use the secure zone rather than other zones. I think maybe my best solution to get rid of the unwanted backup is to eliminate the secure partition and recreate it and start over with a new full backup. Does this sound reasonable? (Either that, or I can just ignore the backup I want to get rid of, and just leave it there.)
Thanks, John

Hello John,

Yes, the only way to get rid of the backup stored in Acronis Secure Zone is to delete Secure Zone.

You can create a scheduled task to save backups on almost any location: internal/external hard drives, network shares, etc.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
