Remove from the list - How do i get it back?
This is very unlikely to happen but for testing purposes i did test it.
If i have created a backup job i can click on the button to the right of the "Backup now" button and go to More > Remove from list. By doing that i remove the backup from the list and at the same time keep all .tib files that backup job created. (i wanted to keep all .tib files)
But, if i do this by purpose or mistake and want it back, how do i do that? I can't find a way to get the backup job with it's settings back to the list so i can continue to use it to take backups.
I can use the "Browse for backup" to get the option to recover the backup, but i do not get the actual backup job with it's settings back. I have tried the "Update backup list" but it does not bring the backup job back. ("Search for backups at startup" is greyed out.)
It was a File backup.
For me remove indicates that it is removed, not deleted permanently.
The odd thing is that i don't even get an "Do you really want to remove..." or "By doing this the backup job is gone forever" message to warn me what is about to happen.
What did i miss?

Roger,
If you remove a task, you just remove the listing from the backup list, but you don't delete the corresponding TIB files.
If you remove by mistake, click on "browse for backup", and select the last TIB file you created with the removed task. ATI will then relist the TIB file. Then, click on the gear menu to the right of that listing, and choose "recreate backup settings". Now, the listed TIB file will become an active task that you can schedule.
Remember that if you change the backup name, destination, scheme or retention rules, it is recommended to create a new task. This will avoid possible serious confusion down the road...

Pat,
I am afraid that won't work.
If i browse for the latest .tib file and then choose "Recreate backup settings" the "Configure file backup progress" dialog pops up with no files selected. All settings are back to zero, so the only way to get all settings back is to manually select what files to back up again. If i don't select any files to backup, i can only use the Recover option for that .tib file.
As i wrote, it won't probably happen that i remove an existing job from the list, but i still think it is odd that by removing one actually delete all settings one have done. I have never seen this approach in any other backup application. Deleting jobs should be hard to do.
Thanks for your help! :)

Roger,
It is not surprising it asks you to reselect the files you want to backup, as this information is probably not stored in the backup files themselves. I don't think there is any other backup application which can recreate backup settings from existing backup files. Generally, you have to create a new task. It is also the approach I recommend with ATI so that it is easier to associate which settings have been used with each task.

No, that is not surprising, it is kind of expected and i have no problems with that fact. :)
My point is that it is indeed surprising that it is so *easy* to *delete* a backup job, without even noticing the end user what is about to happen. I have never used any backupprogram that allows the end user to delete a job from within the application this easily.
The backupprogram is supposed to save and protect our files, but fails in protecting it's own. That's odd.
