Rescue CD has not found any hard disk drive
Hallo there,
I'm currently trying the trial version of Acronis True Image 2010, having used Ghost previously. Apart from just backing I'm looking to migrate my Windows XP boot partition from my normal IDE drive to my Highpoint Rocketraid 1820A RAID 5 array. I'm using a MSI K7D motherboard with AMD 760MPX chipset.
I made a bootable CD using the trial version but upon booting it I get a 'has not found any hard disk drive' error. Surprisingly it didn't even detect my usual IDE drive, but what I'd really like is for it to also detect my RAID array so that I can restore to a partition on that.
Thanks for any help,
looking forward to a resolution and becoming a customer!
Pete

Hello Pete van der Spoel,
I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.
The issue concerns lack of drivers under Acronis bootable disc. Check PM, I have sent you a special ISO image based on different loader and has more hardware support. It will definitely solve the issue.
You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:
http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm
http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm
Note that the trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 bootable disc can’t perform clone disk as this is the limitation of the trial version. Using the trial version you can only restore backup archives and images under Acronis bootable disc.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you.

Hi Dmitry
I have a similar problem, now that I've migrated to a Gigabyte UD7 motherboard that has the Intel ICH10R chipset on it.
I'm using Acronis® True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,022) and have a BartPE CD that was built after enquiring of support some time back (as you did with the OP here... I was sent a BartPE download and then created a new CD, which then worked with my older ICH9R board).
As I'm about to build a matrix-based array for the O/S on this UD7 board... is that what I need to do again?
Appreciate any help before I start and get stuck.
Bruce

Hello Bruce,
I'll do my best to help you.
First of all, please note that you're using an outdated build of Acronis True Image 11 Home, the latest build number is #8101 and you can download it from your account on our web site.
Anyway, I have sent you a Private Message with a download link to the latest bootable media based on the alternate bootloader that should definitely work for you.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Thank you.

Hi,
We have Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 and we're trying to use the bootable disc on a workstation using a HighPoint RocketRAID 1720, but as others have found the software just hangs trying to load. I've tried it with the 'Silent Off' switch and can see it trying different methods to find drivers, but it eventually gives up and causes the PC speaker to output an audible alarm.
Is there a version of this CD that I can download, or a method for adding new RAID and chipset drivers to the existing CDs we have?
Thanks,
Susan

I have just purchased a HighPoint RocketRaid 1740 and hope to upgrade my Windows 7(64) machine with it. I was hoping that I could use Acronis Echo Workstation bootable media to do a backup of the current drive and then restore once I have installed the new RAID controller and disks.
Is it going to work?

Would you please send me the link to the iso? I am having the same difficulty. Thanks!

You'll need to contact Acronis Support for that... sorry.
edit.... I'm still using the update #8101 per the post higher up, and when I query my Products & Downloads area... it still lists that one as the latest, yet I see Acronis True Image Home 2011 (English) Build # 6696 February 04, 2011 available in the general downloads area...
Should I be using the #6696 instead? Is there a reason why it is not showing up as an available download for me?
Thanks (Mods)

Bruce,
the 8101 was last build or update for the specific V11.
Three (2009-2010-2011) new versions with new features have been released since then but all would are versions which would have required you to purchase.
The current version 2011-6696 is available for you to purchase.
You can purchase either the full version or the upgrade version. The upgrade is the same as the full except it requires an input of the v11 serial before it can be used.
Either the full or the upgrade would require the un-install of version 11 before 2011 should be installed.
Additionally, if you wish to try the 2011-6696 for 30 days, you can un-install the version 11 and then install the trial download from the Acronis website. If you decide to buy the trial, you could then just input your purchased serial number into the trial installation and the installation would become official.

Thanks Grover... I will have to investigate the latest version and see what the major advantages are.
