Rescue CD used in a SATA DVD/CD writer/reader

Thread needs solution

I can successfully use the Rescue CD with a PATA drive. If I use a SATA drive there are real problems, very, very slow with a continuous red HDD light. If would appear the there might be a driver that has problems with a SATA DVD/CD drive. This has been tested on two computers with different motherboards to make sure that it was not confined to a particular computer.
Othe bootable CDs seem to work fine eg Memtest 86.

What is a solution?

The problem described is the same for Acronis 10 and 2009 rescue CDs

Hello David,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis Products]]

Please download ISO image from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISO image is based on different loader which has more embedded drivers, it will certainly solve the issue you experience. If not please let us know.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:

http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm
http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm

Thanks Dmitry

But where is the image? I have looked in my Acronis registered products account.

Only can see standard program downloads, one is an update for 2009 build #9796. No ISO is evident.

I can burn an ISO with Nero.

I found the image by going to My Account > Registered Products & Support > Bootable Media. Clicking the bootable media tab allows me to download the image. I'm using ATI2009 b9796.

Thanks David H. Unfortunately My account offers no tab or option called Bootable media. I have tried both the US, UK and Australian web sites.

I am amazed you can access this and I cannot. My Product is TI Home 2009 v 9796

i'm the same as you David, no bootable media tab :(

Hello bjproc and David,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis Products]]

You should first register the serial numbers of Acronis True Image programs at your account. Please do the following to register your product:

1. Choose "Product registration" at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/products/registration/

2. Enter your serial number for your Acronis product in the corresponding field.

If the issue still persists please send me the serial numbers via PM (private message) and I will provide you ISO images.

I am getting weary of this. My product is registered with a recallable serial in "my account". I have actually re-registered to see if that will help, it does not.

I have tried to send a PM to Dmitry or Dmitry Nikolaev and I get is "not a valid recipient". It appears impossible to send a PM to Dmitry.

Clearly I cannot post a serial here.

Please supply ISO or link to same or at least advise how a PM can be sent to Dmitry or even an alternative message method.

Just to make it clear:

In My Account: There are two registered products. The latest being TI 2009 Home v9770, clicking on download, v9770 is available. The latest is actually v9796 and only accessible via Downloads(trial). The latest update is NOT accessible in "My Account"

Additionally selecting Product Updates in "My account" presents a list including v9796 however the only download available is the release notes.

Nowhere is there any evidence of Bootable products eg ISO

Send the PM to dnikolaev (that's the name that comes up when you click the "Send PM icon" under the Posts counter).

Many Thanks Mudcrab. I certainly did not see that tiny icon. Went straight to messages section.

So PM problem resolved.

It is saddening to report that I have not been able to obtain the rescue disk ISO from any source.

1. It is not availble in My Account

2. Dmitry asked that the serial be sent so that an ISO image could be provided. But I have sent three PMs with no response.

3. I have placed a support request with Acronis and also no response.

This is not helpful.

Hello David,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I have sent you 2 PM messages with the requested link. If you still haven’t received it please write your e-mail address via PM.

Thank you very much Dimtry. I certain needed your email advising me of the PMs. I am used to forums that send an email advising a PM. I have learned this forum is different.

The ISO works fine, solves the problem choosing option 1.  A great step forward.

Thanks again.

Hello Support Team,
I seem to have the same problem with the bootable CD in a Lenovo T400 Laptop with SATA CD and SATA HDD.
But I cant find an ISO image in my account profile. :(
Could you send me the link ?

Thanks !!!

Alexander. You need to send a PM to dnikolaev explaining your problem . He will send you a link once you are verified as a Acronis user.

Hello Alexander,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

I have checked your account and sent ISO image of Acronis bootable disc which will solve the issue via PM.

Let me know if the issue persists or you have additional questions regarding our software.

Thank you.
