[Resolved] Error occurred while creating this file

Thread needs solution

Trying to do an initial backup I get this error message in the subject. I'm trying to backup to a DLINK DNS-323. The drive is mounted via CIFS and is accessible via explorer -- no permissions problems, I can create files and folders without issue. I'm on windows 7, 64 bit. The KB article was useless and just implied that my Non Stop Backup device wasn't plugged in ( this shouldn't be a non stop backup anyways ).

I did see someone on this forum with a Seagate NAS having the same issue. Not sure why this wouldn't work since improved NAS support is supposed to be one of the new features here. Glad I did the trial and didn't jump on the purchase right away. I have previously had such good experiences with Acronis products.

here is the log output:

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is documented somewhere but the solution is straightforward. I had tried to use my NAS by using a mapped drive, ie. pointing acronis to the Z: drive where I had mapped my CIFS share. The solution was just to use the full UNC path, ie. \\NAS\Folder

Hope this helps someone else.
