[RESOLVED] True Image 2010 Restore from SATA disk

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I changed my configuration (Main board HS) from IDE disk to SATA disk.
Working with True Image 2010 V13.0.0.7160.
The save disk works perfectly under Windows 7, and SATA disk.
While trying to restore my SATA disk "C:" from my "savec.tib" located on my SATA "h:" disk, the W7 is restarted and the Acronis boot is done, but i got a blue screen with something like"Error, cannot find h:\Savec.tib... retry...". This was working perfectly with my old configuration with IDE disks.
Is there any workaround???
Thanks for a quick answer

Is this a new/different hdisk than you had before?

Hello Scott,
Thanks for your answer.
Yes the Hard disk (SATA), is different, as the new main board does not handle my old IDE disks...
But the Save (*.tib) has been done from the new disk, and i try to restore it on the same new disk...
Unfortunatly, the restore CD does not handle SATA either...

You put in a new mobo and are trying to restore a disk image made when the machine had the old mobo? This won't work. The hardware drivers will all need to be different. It's like trying to put a different engine in your car -- you have to change the motor mounts and control linkages or else the motor just won't work. You need to use the ati Plus Pack to do a universal restore, which lets you restore with the drivers needed for your machine (you have to have these on hand -- check the userguide.

No, the save was done with the new mobo/ new disk, and of course the tried restore also with the new mobo/ new disk.
I found a workaround to restore my C: disk using the Acronis restore CD:
1 - Set up the Bios SATA control mode to AHCI (was IDE)
2 - Boot the restore CD
3 - Restore the disk with Acronis
4 - Set up the Bios SATA control mode to IDE (As W7 wont boot with AHCI)
5 - W7 boot and works perfectly
But I do not have any solution to restore without the Acronis restore CD (from Windows..)

Thanks Anton,
A friend of mine, gave me a copy of the "Recovery Cd 2011", supporting Sata drive..., and it works....
Many thanks to everybody...
