Resourcedll.reg not working
Referring to topic # 33702 (resolved), Acronis console won't unintegrate from windows backup. This solution worked on my desktop computer. I tried to run this resourcedll.reg on my HP laptop and I get error message saying "Cannnot import C:\extract\resourceDLL.reg: Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes." I closed acronis and disabled the startup entries in msconfig and rebooted but to no avail. What processes are running? Can anyone help? HP DV7 x64 Windows 7 x64 SP 1, 6GB ram, 720GB HD. AMD A8 3530MX. Acronis 2012 Home Build 7133. Thanks.

yes, I tried that and didn't work. Tried thru a command prompt with admin priv. as there is no "run as administrator" on the right click. Would uninstalling and reintalling help?

See this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/… and this: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/fix-w7-backup-restore-acronis-true-im…
You can open regedit (right-click and "run as adminstrator") and try to import the .reg file instead of double-clicking on it in Explorer. If that fails refer to the posts in the referenced links to change the permissions on the affected key in the registry.
PS. This issue has been resolved in 2013, and possibly in the lastest build of 2012 (7133).

That worked! Thanks James, I never would have figured it out. It was the social.technet link that I followed to change the registry. By the way I didn't change the permissions back to give only SYSTEM full control, is that ok?

You should be fine leaving them as is as long as "System" still has full control.
