Restore to a different external drive

Thread needs solution

By mistake, I backed up my D-Drive as a partition. Now I cannot retrieve some files I recently lost.

I would like to restore the D-Drive tib file to another external disk drive and then redo as a file backup. I get all the way to specifying backup filename, but when I try to move the destination to the external E-Drive, Acronis won't let me. Help!!

Have you tried either the Mount option or the Explore option? You should be able to get the files you want.

Which version of TrueImage?

Is there anything special about Drive D? Is it a data partition only?

No, I'm not familiar with either the Mount option or the Explore option? But I will look them up.
Drive-D is a data partition on an internal Hard Drive.

I am trying to restore Drive D on an external USB hard Drive-E.
I can see Drive E in Windows Explorer ... and transfer files both ways ... but I cannot see Drive-E from within Acronis

In addition I've done the following:
a. uninstalled Trueimage 2011
b. reinstalled Trueimage 2011
c. restarted Win 7 OS x 64 a couple of times
c. and restarted Trueimage 2011 several times.

I have been trying to install it on an external hard Drive-E. I can see Drive E in Windows Explorer ... and transfer files both ways ... but I cannot see Drive-E from within Acronis.

Charles,

If you have only data, simply double click on the TIB archive file from windows explorer. You will be able to open the archive and copy/paste any file out of it where you want them.

Why are you worried about the backup being a partition backup? Defrag or something else?
