Restore to new disk

Thread needs solution

My hard drive is starting to go so I would like to copy my partition image file to a new hard drive. I can mount the new drive as a slave, but how can I load the image file to the new hard drive? The image file is on my external hard drive which I use for backups. My OS is Win 7 64bit.

John,

I am concerned that your backup may not include all the partitions for your Windows 7 system. Most Win7 systems have more partitions than just drive C.

Do another backup or simulate doing a backup and for the source as to what is to be backed up,
click on the "multiple partitions selections" button, and then
click on the "switch to disk mode" selection in upper right corner.
The first disk shown should be your system disk and it will show all partitions being included in the backup. Note, if your original backup includes all these partitions, then your backup is ok. If not all are included, then I would make a new backup of all partitions.

Once you have the necessary backup of all partitions, check out this link below for restore information.

If restoring to the same size disk, then link item #2 would apply which is a disk option restore.
If restoring to a larger or smaller disk, then item #1 would apply.
Item #4 relates to backups.
