Restore is not allowing me to choose the hard drive to copy files to

Thread needs solution

Please help! I am trying to restore my hard drive after a crash and reset to OEM settings. I re-downloaded TrueImage Home 11 and started the restore wizard.

I select the most recent backup to restore from. I had created all my backups in the Acronis Secure Zone. Then I choose the first option, to "Restore disks or partitions."

The next screen allows me to choose my main hard drive (C:) or "MBR and Track 0." I choose the C: drive and click Next. The program processes for a few minutes.

Then I get an error:

Partition Error
The selected partition contains the following error: Run list corrupted. Please note that you cannot change the file system and size of this partition. It is recommended that you check these partitions after restoration with your operating system disk tools.

I don't know what this means, so I just click "OK" to continue. (What does it mean)?

On the next screen, the program shows me the hard drives to restore to, but I can't choose my main drive (C:). Why not? [See attachment for screen shot]

The C: drive has 193 GB free out of 220 GB, and the amount of data I want to restore from Acronis is only 148 GB. Can someone tell my how I can restore my data?

Hello Mike,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
If I correctly understood you, you have tried to restore the image from within Windows. I suggest you to perform the recovery under Acronis Bootable Media.  Please log in to your account on our web site, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.
You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.
Boot the system from Acronis Bootable Media and perform the recovery. If the issue still persists, please download Acronis Report utility available here and run it, create a report and attach the file to your next post. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.
The mentioned error message was caused by file system corruption. You have backed up the system with file system errors, that's why you are unable to resize the partition during the restore.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
