Restore Program Files to new drive?

Thread needs solution

I'm running build 7046
Currently running Vista and intend buying a new C: drive and installing Win7 fresh.
When I bought my current MESH PC a couple of years ago MS Office was pre-installed and no disc supplied
Microsoft® Office® 2007 Home & Student Edition (OEM version)

Maybe I'm grabbing at straws, but can I restore MS Office from my (Vista) backup to my newly installed Win7 C: drive?

Thanks in advance
Pete

Most likely no, too many detailed registry entries to make this feasible. Office has to be installed to work.

It's probably better to download the installation media from Microsoft and reinstall office on the new hdd. It's allowed to reinstall a OEM version of office on the same computer with a new HDD, but not allowed to transfer a OEM license to a new computer.

You should be able to get a new copy of office 2007 OEM/MLK using this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/backup
I believe there should be a sticker on your computer with the product key for Office.
