Restore Question: My previous backup not listed under "My Backups"

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys,

I made the fatal move of resetting Windows 10 last night. I am using True image 2015, and have been using two different backups for a while. 1 is a differential, and the other (I thought) was a full back up to an external 2tb usb drive. I reinstalled True Image this morning, but when I run it, neither of them show in the list when I select "Backup." Under "My Backups," the only thing showing in that column is "Entire PC (BRCDI-PC)." It appears to be prompting me to back up my C drive.

I would like to restore last Sunday's full backup and start over, but I don't see that as an option. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Tad

When you reset windows did you choose the option to keep your apps and files? If not then they were all deleted along with the TI databases hence your issues. At the bottom of the main GUI screen the "v" if clicked on will allow you to add your existing backups to the list. Once that is done you should be able to recover using those files while booted form the rescue media.

Tom.

Meant to say thanks yesterday. (Not sure how I missed that "Add Backup" thing. Ert.)

I have tried to add my backup set from the external drive to my list of backups, but I get a message that says, "Failed to add backup to backup list. Backup may be locked or corrupted. ..." It goes on to say that I need to insure that I have the last volume in the backup and that I don't have renamed copy. Either way, I'm lost here. Any suggestions.

Tad

I would try validating the backup. Was this backup only a full backup or was it part of an incremental backup?
