Restore System Partition ?

Thread needs solution

Using "True Image 2010", can the Windows "System Partition" (C: Drive) be restored From a Backup Image, while currently in Windows XP:

.... By Launching Start Menu, Acronis True Image and choosing True Image's "Restore Option" ?

--- OR ---

..... Must you Boot the PC, from the True image - Rescue Disc and do the Restore from the Rescue Disc environment ?

If you start the restore from within win, the pc will reboot into linux and do the restore. If you use the BootCD, the pc will boot up on the CD into linux and you can then tell it to restore. You can't have win running while restoring it to a drive., even though you can back it up while it is running.

Hello JosephB,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Let me answer your question.

With Acronis True Image Home 2010 you can restore a system partition using both mentioned ways: within Windows and using a standalone bootable CD. However, please note that if you are restoring the partition within Windows, reboot will be required and restore process itself will be started right after the reboot.

You can download the trial version of the software using this direct link. The trial version is fully functional within Windows for 15 days. With a standalone media only Restore function is available.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, I'll be glad to assist you.

Thank you.
