Restore of zip backup impossible (TrueImage 2012)

Hi all,

I configured Acronis True Image to store backups as zip format. Now, the system crashed and I wanted to restore data. But what I find on the disks are .z01 files. Although I do not mind the extension, there is no way to get into those archives. 7zip fails, Acronis True Image 2012 on a different computer fails to even accept .z01. After renaming the .z01 files to zip, the TrueImage installation on the different computer is able to "see" it, but fails to open it.

How can I access my data? It's ridiculous, so many backup versions are stored, but I cannot access one of them. :-(((

Please help and advise how to get access to my data.

The .z01 extension indicates that the .zip archive files have been split. This occurs for large volume backups. The backup archive is split into smaller chunks of data and save a .z01, .z02, .z03 and so on scheme. This chain of files must all be in the same folder for recovery. Not sure how many you have or how many total backups you have but you may need to sort things out by creation date to get a complete set to work with.
