Restored hard drive and still won't boot

Thread needs solution

hi all, new to forums. I'm a long time user of true image free version and have successfully restored my system after a crash.
Last week, I was in the middle of a system restore on Win 7 and the PC froze up so I powered down. The system wouldn't power back up and after testing the PSU I brought it to my local shop. Fortunately it seems the power up problem was only some loose RAM and was easily fixed. Unfortunately, the system wouldn't boot windows, asking for a win7 repair disk (which I don't have). I booted from the acronis rescue disk and restored my hard drive (BIOS are working at least). Still windows won't boot.

I brought the PC back to the shop and he's reinstalling windows.
Does anyone know if a wrecked operating system would mess up a restore from image. I'm afraid to try another restore when I get it back but don't want to manually install all my aps.
