Restoring from a Disaster

Thread needs solution

I lost my primary (SSD) drive and they are sending me a new one. I have a complete backup and incrementals using TI 2015 and also a bootable rescue disk from my other desktop.
Can anyone tell me the best way to reestablish my new SSD without reinstalling windows 7?

You will need to use the user created Rescue Media to restore your backups. When restoring you will need to choose the last incremental backup in the chain to restore from to get back to as close as possible to before the SSD death.

If you have not created the Rescue Media you can log in to your Acronis account on the Support site and download the iso file there. You do not have to format the new drive prior to performing the recovery, the recovery process will do all necessary formatting.

Post again if you have other questions.

Thanks for the help. My rescue media is from my other desktop (also Windows 7) - Is this OK to use? And my backups are on an external hard drive - is this OK?

The Rescue Media will work an any PC. The external drive could be a problem if it is a Seagate drive as some of those drives are not recognized by the Recovery Media. If that is the case you could copy the backup files onto your "other desktop" then do the restore with the drive that contains the backup attached or installed into the machine being recovered to.
