Restoring file from old TIB file on a IMAC

Thread needs solution

I lost my HDD on a IMAC and have loaded a fresh copy of OS.

I only require some of the files in the old tib file back. So how do i mount this or restore these files.

Many Thanks

Ian

Ian, have you reinstalled ATIH 2015 on your IMAC since installing a fresh copy of the OS?

If so, then download a copy of the ATIH for MAC User Guide and refer to the Recovery chapter 4.4 which states the following steps:

Recovery from a backup stored in local or network storage
To recover files and folders:
1. Open Acronis True Image 2015.
2. On the left pane, select the backup that contains the files and folders to recover.
3. Click Recover Files. The window with the backup contents opens.
4. In the Backup version list, select the backup version by its backup date. When you complete the
procedure, the files and folders will be recovered to the state they were in on that date.
5. Browse to the file or folder that you want to recover. You can also use the Search field.
6. To start recovery, drag the file or folder to a destination in the Finder. When the progress is
complete, your data is recovered to the selected date and time and stored in the selected
location.

Hi Steve

Many thanks for your comments.

My problem is that i can not add the old backup to the left pane so i can then recover the files.

Ian

Ian, sorry but my experience with MAC is limited to whatever is in the User Guide as only have Windows systems.

You may want to post in the Acronis True Image for MAC Forum directly where there will be other MAC users who may be able to help you better.
