Restoring new version images using an older version of Acronis?
A friend of mine has just given me a ring seeking some advice concerning his backup images. He has been using TI 2010 on the 30 day trial which has just ended. He has decided that there is little reason to upgrade from TI 2009 so has uninstalled the trial version and reinstalled TI 2009 (no problems encountered).
However, his concern is this - he has made quite a number of backup images in that 30 days and has asked for confirmation that he will be able to restore them if needed using TI 2009. I have said I don't think that he will, my understanding is that he would have been able to restore them if he was trying to restore TI 2009 images using TI 2010 but I didn't think you could restore images made on a newer version with an older version. Am I right or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Thanks for that MudCrab - I thought I may be right on that one, I will pass on your comments. I have also suggested that so long as there was nothing of real importance on the backups that he makes new ones as quickly as possible with TI 2009 and simply deletes the ones made with TI 2010. My observations are that TI 2010 appears to be going the same way as the infamous TI 11. I am now using Windows 7 backup as well as TI 2009 as for simple full image backups (which is what I need) it does the job equally well.
