Rogue non-stop backup
Several problems with non-stop backup in Acronis True Image Home 2010. In brief:
a) Non-stop backup somehow got turned on and I cannot turn it off.
b) It does not obey me when I ask to delete the consumed backup storage.
Re a): The non-stop backup page (click Backup, Non-stop backup) shows "Non-stop backup is off. Click to turn on". Nonetheless it is consuming storage in the hidden "Time Explorer Storage" folder on my backup drive. In particular I have approximately 272 1-gig files dated back to October 5, 2011, the latest created 15 minutes ago when I specifically noted that the button was Off and while I was monitoring the hidden directory.
Re b): I navigate to the Nonstop Backup Options window, click Storage, and click on the backup drive which is D:. The graphic shows about 1/3 of the drive each green, dark blue, light blue representing I think miscellaneous storage, non-stop backup, and available.
Clicking "clean up" pops up a Resolve Insufficient Space window.
I drag the arrow full to the right, marking the entire time scale as Data to Delete, and click Ok.
Version Deletion window: Are you sure you want to clear the selected time frame? I click Yes! I badly want to do so!
After absolutely no delay the pop-up closes, Resolve Insufficient Space disappears, and the Nonstop Backup Options window shows no change at all to the space allocation graphic. Indeed, nothing is erased.
How can I rein in this rogue process and become its master instead of its slave?

Charles,
When you launch ATI, do you see the non-stop backup task? if yes, delete it. Then delete the hidden storage folder (it should be empty). If you don't see the non-stop backup task, you should uninstall and reinstall ATI. Then, you can disable the service as Tomf suggests.
