Run ATIH 2011 Backup File as Virtual Machine

Thread needs solution

Is it possible to use my ATIH 2011 backup file to run as a virtual machine. If so can someone explain how to do this? I am moving to a new computer that runs Windows 7 but my old (current) machine is XP. I want to keep Windows 7 on my new machine which I believe means that I must run my backup file with XP operating system as a virtual machine.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can use the Acronis Boot Sequence Manager to boot directly into a TIB file.
In any case, you can convert your TIB file to a VHD file and then use Oracle's VirtualBox to use it as a virtual machine. Using VMware to do this requires a bit of tweaking. See http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24164.

With a VHD, in Win 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can also attach the VHD file to your system and use Windows to boot into it.
