Run list corrupted

Thread needs solution

ATIH 2013 boot media

On my PC, single internal HD is divided into three partitions, plus a small hidden recovery partition that was auto-created by the Windows 10 upgrade process. Disk is MBR in a legacy BIOS system.

I use the ATI boot media to do image backups. Today I am unable to do a normal backup because the boot media reports this error:

File system error. Run list corrupted.

When I right click on each partition and choose Properties, the ATI boot media reports that the C partition has the error.  It reports the other partitions error-free.

One other symptom is that, for the first time, the ATI boot media does not display the label that I assigned to the C: partition, though it shows labels for my other two user–created partitions.

I ran multiple disk checking apps, including chkdsk, Partition Wizard’s surface test, Dell Diagnostics, Western Digital Data Lifeguard. All report no errors.

Any idea what that error message refers to? It’s not a normal Windows error message, and the only references I can find have to do with Acronis.  I’d  love if an Acronis staffer could state what they intend that error message to signify.

Clearly ATI finds something wrong with the drive, but that error message doesn’t guide me to the nature of the error   I don’t know if it’s a file error, a sign of a failing drive, a controller issue, etc   Every test I run says the drive is fine, but clearly ATI  found something.

See KB 14260: Operation with Acronis Product Fails with "Run list corrupted" or "MFT bitmap corrupted"

It is possible that the issue lies in a hidden / system partition on the drive which isn't being checked via CHKDSK because has no assigned drive letter.

If you can create an Acronis System Report and look at the Disks report (disks.txt in the zip file) then this may help show which actual partition has the error, then run CHKDSK /R for it.
