Runtime error when stating TI 2010 build 6029

Thread needs solution

I have been using the trial version of TI 2010 on Vista Home Premium without problems for a month, today I bought and downloaded a paid for version from the UK site.
I uninstalled the trial version and installed TI with no error messages. After a reboot and clicking on the TI icon nothing happened, not even an error message, tried starting from the start menu same result. I was able to make a rescue cd from the start menu and this boots normally except my usb optical mouse doesn’t work in the selection screen, and I was able to make an image of my system disk.
I registered the new version on Acronis website and downloaded build 6029, uninstalled previous version cleaned the registry and installed build 6029, clicking on the icon produces the "Runtime error"
I have looked for the live chat and email support but they either well hidden or nonexistent clicking on support leads to this forum.
Anyone any ideas that may work, I have been installing and uninstalling this software all afternoon without success

As Acronis have not bothered to reply or offer any other help and after spending many more wasted hours trying to get this software to work, including using Revo Uninstaller together with many other suggested in other threads. Noting all the problems others are posting regarding this build, I decided to completely remove TI 2010 build 6029 using Revo Uninstaller and manually checking for any remnants, I tried to install my old Version 11.

The installer immediately told me that that I did not have the necessary privileges, thinking that the file was corrupt I downloaded a fresh file this gave the same result.

Not wishing to restore a image because of the large number of Windows updates since I had made a image I used Windows Restore to go back to the day before I tried installing the paid for file (build 6029). This returned me to the trial version build 5055, after entering my serials the program started and appears to be working with no problems.

As I stated in my first post the rescue cd seems to work normally apart from no support for my USB mouse in the first selection screen.

Como, do you have Outlook Express and Outlook installed?

According to an Acronis kb note, this can have the effect you mentioned. The answer in that case apparently is to remove OE.

Judging by the problems posted here concerning build 6029, I would suggest going back to build 5055 and wait for another build to be released.

Same problem here .... see http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5461

No response as of yet

I have Outlook installed but not Express

The system restore took me back to build 5055, which has not caused any problems but I haven't tried a restore - Me Chicken!!
