Same sized drives wont clone
I have a WD 500GB HDD destination drive and a Sandisk 500GB SDD source drive I am trying to clone. The problem is that acronis tells me, when choosing the desitnation drive, that i need 128MB additional space. I have checked the disks and both are the same sector size and exact same capacity. Why am I getting this error? I even deleted the EFI partiton on the destination drive to completely free up the drive space. The only thing i havent tried is letting acronis initialize the destination drive. I have the destination drive plugged into my laptop via dock to eSATA and the souce drive connected via SATA to USB 3.0 i have used identical sized drives many times before with acronis without issue, and that includes cloning from and to both HDD and SDD. What could be the problem?

Dan, welcome to these public User Forums.
The first action of any clone operation is to initialise the destination drive.
The recommended method of cloning when the OS drive is involved, is to install the new SSD drive in place of the original HDD, then connect that original drive via an external adapter, followed by booting from the Acronis Rescue Media using the same BIOS mode as your Windows OS uses.

Dee, Some drives have slightly different usable capacity based on how much space is allocated by the manufacturer for things like caching. If the clone is stating there isn't enough space to go from the original to the new one, you could try to backup the original first (store the backup .tib or .tibx on a different location such as a different external drive or NAS) and restore that to the new drive instead.
