This has never been a strong suit of ATI. Your best bet is to remove the old tasks before unistalling the prior version. Uninstalling the prior version, then installing new version and creating new tasks.

It even helps in many cases to use msconfig to disable all services except MS serivces and all startup programs before doing the uninstalls and installs.

Hello Arnoldo and Scott,

If you want save all the tasks scheduled by Acronis True Image 2009 Home in version 2010 you should not uninstall version 2009. Just install Acronis True Image 2010 Home over your existing software and all your tasks will be accessible in the new version of the software.

Thank you.

Wel, I haven't tested this in 2010 but installing over a prior version often has been problematic with the just prior versions especially re tasks -- enough so that the general recommendation has often been to unistall and install a new version fresh. Is Acronis asserting that after three years and three versions this part of the program finally works? Can anyone outside of Acronis confirm this?

Hello Scott,

I can only confirm that we have improved this mechanism in Acronis True Image Home 2010, and in most cases it works fine. However, we also aware of cases when tasks are not visible after such upgrade installation, so one need to reinstall the product from scratch in such case.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Regards,

One thing you can try is to copy the 2009 Scripts folder to another location and then after you have 2010 installed, you can copy back the folder and see if it is still functional.

As both Scott and Alexander have stated, success is a mixed bag. You can try it and see it it works. Generally speaking, editing a task does not produce satisfactory results and usually requires a new task before success can be achieved.
