Schedule useless on TI Home 2010 if you do full backup!!

Thread needs solution

Running TI Home 2010 on windows 7. When I schedule full backup to run at a specific time, it runs but overwrites original backup. There is check box to tell it if it should overwrite but it makes no difference.

This leave you in a bad way should it fail during backup. It always pays to keep 2 or 3 backups. Manual works fine. this bug keeps me from using the scheduler. It seems so clear I cannot believe Acronis would even let the software out without catching this. Build 6053

This is a known issue. My best recommendation is that you begin to use Chain2Gen to help you manage your backups. This will solve the issue of overlay. You can find a link in my signature index below. Try it. I recommend it and use it myself. It's a great product and free.

Another alternative would be to create additional tasks and have each task place a backup in a different folder. Each task could be at a different day or week, etc.

Your suggestion of creating additional task is a great idea. Sometimes we cannot see the forest for the trees. Thanks.

I'm glad you found something useful but my first and preferred recommendation is to setup and use chain2gen.

Using the different tasks still has the problem of overlap when the 2nd backup arrives.
