Scheduled, but failed backup can not be stopped and blocks further backups!

Thread needs solution

I have two backups defined: one goes to my NAS at home and is scheduled to run weekly. The other goes to a portable USB drive and is not scheduled, i.e. only runs when manually triggered.

I am currently traveling for several weeks and have a portable USB-drive with me to be able to run occasional backups during that trip, but I currently can not run any backup, because the scheduled backup to my home NAS (which is currently of course unreachable) has been triggered the night before and it seems impossible to kill this backup!

It's status shows "calculating time remaining" and I can click onto "STOP" as often as I want (after which I always get a dialog whether I am sure to stop the backup) but the backup is NOT stopped or aborted if I click YES, but remains in the "calculating time remaining"-state.

The other backup to the USB-drive (which I want to run now) can be started but it keeps showing the status "Queued", obviously because that other backup is currently running and is not properly stopped.

So in short: an accidentally triggered backup to a non-reachable network place drives ATI into an unusable status (probably until I am back and it can connect to my NAS again).

THIS IS A SHOW-STOPPER!

Killing the UI and restarting all of the Acronis Windows- Services has not solved the issue. Neither has rebooting the system! So, how can I kill and get rid of that running backup?

I also have a frozen backup.
I use two custom ones that depend on a drive that is not always connected. I was able to stop one of them by clicking not on the bottom right Stop button (which did nothing other than asking if i wanted to stop the backup) but by using the pull-down next to the task name. However it still shows as calculating time and the other routine is still queued - and their is no backup occurring.

One setting you might try would be in the
Disk Backup Options/advanced/errror handling
Check mark the option "Repeat attempts if a backup fails"
Reset the number of attempts limit to only 1
Perhaps reduce number of seconds delay from 30 to 15.

--------
If scheduling enabled,
check the scheduling/advanced settings
Scroll the screen upward to reveal the hidden settings.
Only options to be checked is the
Wake computer
Prevent computer from sleepingt.
Uncheck the two options about "if missed" run at startup.

True Image 2015 is very hard to navigate compared to 2013! I, too, seem to have phantom backups running but never completing, (Current one has been saying it has 'less than one minute to go' for the last 45 minutes.)
I also can't figure out how to delete old backups (or even list them!) which was easy under 2013.
There isn't even an entry for 'Delete Backups' in the help index.
So many problems but little help. Build 6525

We have experienced similar issue with backup retry / repeat attempt limit not working correctly, have posted details here: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/118362
