Hello Stephen,

Let me assist you.

Indeed, most likely the issue is caused by the malfunction of Acronis Scheduler module. I may suggest you to do the following in order to fix the issue:

  1. Click Start -> Run and type in services.msc

  2. In the Services window locate Acronis Scheduler2 Service:

  3. Right-click on the service and select Properties in the pop-up menu:

  4. In the invoked window set the Startup type to Automatic:

  5. Click the Log On tab and make sure the Log on as: is set to Local System account. Click OK:

  6. Right-click on the service again and select Start in the pop-up menu:

If the service is started and you still can't run any task, please update it manually:

- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start

This should delete all Acronis scheduled tasks on the PC.

You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

Thank you.

I just discovered that I have a similar problem, but the reasore is the only task that does not start. It says idle. ans in the schedule column, it says 12.00 am and cant be changed. All back ups seem to work, as do validate and clone disk. I get no option to set a start time as in the back up task. What am I doing wrong. Please help. My Vista OS crashed and I have a backup but can't restore it.

Hello John!

Thank you for finding time to leave a comment and report about the issue! I understand your concern, and will be glad to help!

According to the information provided it looks like the issue was caused by the glitch in the Scheduler. In order to resolve the problem, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Update Scheduler as mentioned in this article
    In case the issue remains:
  2. Download Acronis Scheduler Manager. Open command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd); run schedmgr.exe and issue the following command:
    task zap
    This will erase all traces of the tasks.
  3. Reboot the machine
  4. Recreate the tasks

This should resolve the issue faced.

Should it remain, please gather Acronis Info and contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
