Scheduler service stopped

Thread needs solution

Last week I inadvertantly managed to stop the scheduler service. Now when I open up Acronis True Image 2014 and click on one of the backup options on the backup and recovery tab, a dialog box pops up to tell me to re-activate scheduler if I want to make a back up. So I click on Enable scheduler service and another dialog box pops up to tell me that scheduler is now activiated. The only problem is that it isn't activated at all! The same dialog box pops up again when I click on a backup option and I dutifully click on Enable scheduler servcice and get the same message that it's now activated - but it isn't. No matter how many times I try, I can't get the scheduler service activated.

Please help.

Launch services.msc from the "run" UI, find the Acronis Scheduler2 service, right click on it to open the properties and make sure the startup of the service is "automatic". Restart the computer and verify things are working.

I tried this and I am still getting: Sch Service Stopped. Last week, a tech person with access to my machine suggested deleting all the startup things, even though I only had a few. I think this is why Acronis stopped working. Also my daily files backup program, Retrospect HD, was also being weird and not working. So I did the suggestion above and it looks like Retrospect is backing up, but Acronis still shows service stopped. When I click on setting or the service stopped, a small window opens and closes. Thank you.

Set your scheduler like this.

It backed up ok on Thursday as scheduled, but today, Monday, I am getting a notification that the scheduler service stopped and I cannot get it back working. The services tab is set per your instructions. Why would it be losing the scheduler? Thank you.

Will the schedulers work if you reboot?

Restart the installation file and use the REPAIR option. Your personal Acronis account has the files available for download if you need copies or updates.

Once the repair is completed, if you have scheduler trouble again, reset the services according to my guide.

No, I just rebooted again. I get a little pop up in the lower right, telling me the scheduler is not working, then its gone. I installed the Windows updates this morning. Perhaps thats the problem?
I open the program, click on the "resolve problem", the yellow bar goes away for a bit, then comes back.
Thank you.

Recheck my prior posting. I added to you which you may not have seen.

I notice Microsoft pullled their most recent 8.1 updates.

HnLA,

Hey, I started up my laptop and I had a "scheduler stopped" message during bootup.
However, the service went ahead and started itself so when I looked at it, the service had already been restarted.'

Must have been the Microsoft updates as I had made no changes.

Open the Scheduler and check the service.
Use the restart service option if needed.
Was the message this morning from a new bootup or what was happening when the message appeared?

Run Services.msc
Restar if needed. Be sure that Acronis scheduler services are running and set to automatic start.

I have rebooted many times since the update. I have checked services and it is listed as you say: 3 Restart Services, 1, 0.

I cannot open anything, cannot click on Settings, it opens a small window and quickly closes it.

Doesn't either the header tabs "General" or "Log on" show the status with the option to either stop or st art the service?

This morning when I turned on the computer it was working. I rebooted in the afternoon, still working. I did nothing, not sure what happened. I honestly did not change anything since yesterday. Lets hope it works for the weekly backup on Thursday.

I'm running Acronis True Image Home 2014. I had Microsoft fix a problem the other day and now I'm getting a "Scheduler Service Stopped" message in Acronis. The pop-up says it's fixed after I click it, but it isn't. What do I need to do to get backups back online? I can't seem to get through to Acronis on the phone to ask a simple question.

Set your scheduler service as per this example.

If that does not work, then restart the Acronis install program and choose the repair option.

How do I do this? I can't get into anything because I keep getting the Scheduler Service Stopped message.
