Seagate Disc Wizard breaks True Image 11 Home

Thread needs solution

I (foolishly) used the free Seagate DiscWizard software to 'clone' my old drive to my new Seagate drive !

On both my new drive (and now the old drive) the previously installed copy of True Image 11 Home no longer works. It now requests that I enter the serial number which I no longer have.

DiscWizard is a 'free' cut down version of True Image but why would it break the True Image installation ? Is there any way that I can repair the installation without the serial number or recover the serial number from my installation ?

If you registered version 11, your personal web page can provide you with the serial number. This is the same location where you download updates from.

Only one instance of TrueImage can exist so a second install overwrites the first. Usually, the easiest way to get back to where you want to be is to restore a prior backup so your system will again assume the same condition as existed at time of backup creation.

Note: Seagate Disc Wizard is a reduced function prior version of TrueImage Home so it overwrote whatever TI existed on your computer.

Edit: I assume your reference to 11 is the older version 11 and not the version 2011

Thank you for your kind explanation. Yes, version 11 not 2011. Pity I didn't think before using DiscWizard - I was in a rush and just assumed they would be completely separate installs !

I installed DiskWizard on the old disk which I then cloned to the new disk so that explains why both have been screwed ! I no longer have my personal serial number (lost packaging).

We use TI for one laptop at 'work' so I used that serial number to register for this forum.

As Grover mentioned your serial number is available at www.acronis.com if you registered the product.
