Selectively Reinstall Programs on Updated XP
I'm having Windows XP reinstalled on my computer because the blue screen of death pops up frequently.
I currently have nonstop Backup running on my XP SP3 PC, backing up my data files and documents, but not my programs (I think).
What I'd like is to back up programs (Quicken, Norton AV, Microsfot Office, etc, etc,) with Acronis. Then send out the computer to get Windows XP reinstalled. When I pick up the computer, I'd like to reinstall manually Acronis 2011 and pick and choose programs to be restored WITHOUT manually having to reinstall each program separately.
Can Acronis do this? What is the best way to get it done?
Thanks in advance.

Mark,
Unfortunately, you will need to re-install each new program after the reinstall of Windows. A backup will be a good reference but TrueImage does not provide any mechanism to just to restore specific programs and if it did, you could be restoring the things that is causing your grief now.
The good news is to use your Bootable Media Recover CD and use it to make a backup immediately after updating Windows. Install TrueImage and then Everytime you make a change or a new program install, run the backup again as an differential or incremental. Having totally current backups can help you recover if one of your new installs should cause you grief.
