Self-Encrypting Drive-Technologie (SED): Backup with TI

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I want to use a SSD with Self-Encrypting Drive-Technologie (SED).
How can I backup this with TI?
I have found following forum topic, but there is still no answer and I found nothing in the forum.

39671: Samsung 840 pro with Self-Encrypting Drive-Technologie (SED) / True Image 2012

Hi,
I want to buy a Samsung 840 pro with Self-Encrypting Drive-Technologie (SED) and would like to encrypt the ssd.
When I do a backup of the windows partitions with Acronis True Image 2012 (booting from CD): Will I have to do a raw (sector-by-sector) backup of an encrypted partition, or will I be able to do a normal backup, which is usually much faster than sector by sector?
When I later do a restore: Will the restired partition again will be encrypted, or will it be unencrypted causing trouble after the restart of the restored system?
Thank you for your reply!

Thank you very much

I assume it would be similar to the situation when backing up drives encrypted with other tools: when backing up using the Windows app of ATI, the drive would be unlocked and ATI would have normal access to the files. Thus, the backup would not be encrypted.
