Sequential Backups

Thread needs solution

Hi Everyone

I have prepared numerous unscheduled tasks to backup. Is there a way to select and run these backups sequentially?

Thanks.

Set them to run on schedules and set the times to be, in effect, sequential. If Task 2 is scheduled to start after Task 1 begins, then even if Task 1 is still running when the Task 2 scheudle time occfurs, Task 2 will start after Task 1 finishes.

In addition to what Scott has suggested, you can also add the already prepared script to a (several) Windows Scheduled task and these can run based on your selection of time.

The suggestion Scott offered will work very well, as well, but it is better than you create new tasks (rather than edit an existing task) as editing can lead to more errors. Should you choose this route, be sure your target (if external) is attached before you edit or create a new Acronis task.

Thank you, to the both of you, for your suggestions. I 'd thought that setting sequential backup start times was going to cause all sorts of problem, thinking that the duration that the duration of each task had to be (more or less) known before the the start time of the next one is set.

Now, would it not also be possible to do a sequential backup by simply rescheduling all tasks to start at shutdown? And, is it then possible to set the last task to get the PC to auto shutdown?

That should be possible, but to keep the sequence in a particular order, you need to set the start times sequentially.
