Serial Code Number Not Valid - NEW Install

Thread needs solution

Bought ATIH 2012 today & during install I am told my "seial number is not valid".
Please help.
Have verified Serial Code is correct numerous times.
When I enter during install for activation I do not get the "next" button.
When I go to my Acronis account I am told my "seial number is not valid".

If you received your serial via an email, then highlight the serial within the email and choose the copy function and then copy into clipboard memory.

Open Notepad and use the edit/paste option and paste the number into notepad. Save the file as ATIH2012-serial. Your serial will look something very similar to this example.

XYZ5DZAX-D7HE2MRZ-SPLQUTHD-Z3RJZ2KW-XYZWYPFR-2HDCXZAX-H7N9UN2C-XZY8BK6J

Copy the serial into clipboard memory again and restart the installation.

When it asks for the serial to be input, then put the mouse pointer into the open window and perform a Control V which will paste the number from memory into the open serial window.

Did you buy the full program or did you buy just the upgrade. If an upgrade, it could be asking for the serial number of the prior version.

However, it did not work. Still says my code is invalid.
I purchased the full program in a box.
Any other suggestions?

Me, I'm losing $$$, cxed dinner out, so I can waste my time fixing something that should work. Where is Acronis? Out enjoying themselves on the $$$ they made off Suckers like me.
This is critical to my work & should have been done hours ago. Obvious I can't depend on Acronis, but thankfully you are here.

For the heck of it I tried my keyfrom ATIH 2011, but it didnotwork.
ATIH 2011 was totally removed prior tothe "attempted" of 2012.

I assume you are trying to read the serial number from the cd envelope. If yes, then try this.

Get a magnifier so you can enlarge the lettering. Be very careful and write the number down again. Note especially any zero's or letter "o", also, the letter "B" and the numeral "8", it can be very difficult to read.

If you still have trouble, then use the "Live Chat" support option and ask Acronis for help. They can tell you what is correct.

Have done the "magnifying" glass routine. Learned that from previous experiences.
"Live Chat" is not open. Tried it earlier. Acronis does not even have the decency to publish the hours. One time I called "phone" support & was repeatedly told I was in the que. After more time than I care to admit to I learned it had been closed the entire time. That's deceitful. Where are all of those management types whose portraits keep flashing on the screen quoting how the customer comes 1st?
What would happen if I used a "trial" serial number? Will I still gwt all of the benefits of the version I paid for? This way I could @ least get my work done & something productive could come of this day.

Go ahead. If you have the trial version already installed, no need to un-install. I will request that tech support look at this link and see if they can help but it will be 36 hours before they will respond--Monday am.

I have not yet installed the trial version. Don't trust them, but if say I can still get all the features it will get me by for a time until I can come up w/ a dependable solution.

Except for some feature being blocked in the trial version, there are no differences. You can input the purchased serial number into a trial installation and the trial becomes the official version. I have made the request to support to look at this link when they return to work.

If the Trial becomes the official does that mean it will have ALL of the features & be the "full" version I purchased?

Yes.

After it becomes official, you will have to burn a new bootable CD in order for the CD not to limited.

Found the solution to my Serial Code problem. It was one I have not come across before. Preventable, but the "1%" who runs Acronis obviously continues to allow this error to occur. It is not an oversight. You would think that the "1%" who runs Acronis would not allow this blatant error, but they do allow it. They must enjoy returning to the office after their relaxing weekend & laugh about all of the people, foolish enough to buy their product, having problems & not be able to get support from Acronis.
My giving feedback on this matter is a waste of time - they don't care.
Could Acronis reimburse me for the $$$ I lost over this? YES, but they won't.
Could Acronis reimburse me for the enjoyable, relaxing evening that had been planned for tonight? NO, that is priceless.
Besides why should the "1%" who run Acronis care? They already have my $$$ & if I get a refund it will cost me more time & $$$ to research, purchase, install, & learn a new program.
Acronis wins. Customer loses.

I have the same problem. Bought a new boxed version from computer shop of Acronis True Image Home 2012 PC Backup & Recovery Plus. The serial number on the packaging will not automatically activate the software and all attempts to try to get the program to work met with invalid serial number. I checked it over and over, tried it with and without hyphens. I have spent hours on it. Had to uninstall Norton antivirus just to get the program to run (that was another horrific experience). All attempts to contact customer support end in a dead end - you should try it sometime as a customer - you can't get access to phone, chat or email support at all.

What is the problem with the serial number that came with the product that I paid full retail price for? How do I upgrade from the trial version to the full version I paid for?

OK, same problem here. The installation at first would not accept the serial number. After retyping, it allowed me to proceed, but the installation failed halfway through. I switched over to the Admin account on my computer, and now the s/n (copied and pasted into the box) is being called invalid. I also can't register my software for the same reason, the first 16 symbols are being called "invalid". I can't find any articles that address this problem. Is anyone at Acronis listening?
