Setting number of backups to keep in TI2014

Thread needs solution

Is there a function in TI2014 to set a total number of incremental backups you want, say 10, and have Acronis clear out all the backups after that number is reached and start again with 1?
I have been told it exists but can't find it in my standard (not lite, not premium) version of TI2014.

This function did exist in previous versions of TI but it was completely worthless because of how it was implemented. If it exists in 2014, does it work as it should? How it should work is that when a given backup reaches 10 incremental backups, all of them are simply erased and a new full backup is created.

Finally, does the function exist in 2013 also?

Thanks.

Have you tried reading the manual?
Section 3.13.1 (page 66) of TI2014 manual explains options..
I have set mine.. but not got to point where it will auto delete yet.. so jury still out on if it works.

Choose incremental backup, create a new full backup at 10 incrementals. YOu will get one full, 10 incrementals, a new full, 10 incrementals, etc.
BUT Ati will first complete the new full before erasing an old set of full+incrementals.

Yes, the function exists in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and its use covered in the manual in generalities..
What you need is a custom backup scheme, set to incrmental number you want and also set the number of chains you wish to keep and use automatic cleanup so you can have a revolving automatic cleanup so manual deletion is avoided and no full disk message.

This is illustrated in link 2 below. From inside link 2, click the green color forward link and you will find many illustations, but it is illustration 11-Inc that is relevant to this discussion.

Be aware that the program will create its new backup before deleting an oldest chain so you must allow space for that temporary need.

Note the example below:

Scheme setting to store no more than X recent version chains.
---
If X set to 1 (Recent version chains)

The first backup chain created ( or first recent version chain) will be
one full plus 10 incrementals or 11 sequential files in recent version chain #1 (referred within the file name as B1, S1 to S11).
After sequential backup #11 (B1, S11) completed (inc #10), recent version chain will be complete and contain 11 files.
The chain always begins with a full backups so the
The next sequential backup to be created will be Full Backup #2 (sequential file #12) and after its successful completion, all (first 11 backups) of Recent version chain 1 will be deleted.
-------------------------------
If X set to 2
The deletion of chain 1 will not occur until after the creation of 3rd full (sequential backup #23) leaving all of chain 2 and the beginning 3rd full of chain 3.
-------------------------------
If X set to 3
The deletion of chain 1 will not occur until after the creation of the 4th full (sequential backup #34) leaving all of chain 2 and chain 3 and the beginning 4th full of chain 4.
--------------------------
As illustrated, the deletion of oldest chain occurs after the creation of its replacement based on your setting of how many "store no more than X recent version chains.
--------------------------
The rules I practice is that once the backup is created, no edits or changes should be performed on the backup task. If changes of configuration needed, stop using the old task and create a new task and each backup task points to its own unique storage folder--one storage folder per backup task.
----------------------------

Addendum:
Here is a guide specifically tailored to your example of full plus 10 incrementals.

That seemed to do the job. It ran through the number I specified, created a new full backup and deleted the old ones.
Thanks.
