Shortcut on desktop has no logo

Thread needs solution

I have been an Acronis customer for years with hit and miss success. I recently purchased the new True Image Home 2012 and the shortcut on my desktop has no icon. I went into the application folder to create a new one and the main application in the folder didnt have an icon either.

Clearly this is the smallest of issues but if you cant correctly get an icon on the desktop I have to wonder about the rest of the product.

I run a W7 64 bit PC by the way.

I'm afraid I'll have to also run another backup program to assure I'm covered.

IN which of the files did you look for an icon?

Program files(x86)/Acronis/TrueImageHome/TrueImageLauncher

There is no icon on that file. Typically if a desk icon gets corrupted or is otherwise not usable one can go into the program file and create a shortcut from the application itself and in this case the file which launches Acronis is the TrueImageLauncher file and strangely enough it doesnt have an icon.

I have never seen anything like it. Clearly it's not a big deal but definitely peculiar.

Look in one of the other exe files.

In XP Home, this file has several icons to choose from.

C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageLauncher.exe

I found the icon by tracing the start menu program listing.
