Should I buy and install

Thread needs solution

I bought the 2012 upgrade when the offer, I thought, was too good to miss. But I never got round to installing it because of all the adverse comments on the forum and it concerned me how much it seemed to infiltrate all aspects of Windows. Well, I have now had an email with a great offer for 2013 with the Plus Pack. I've scanned the 2013 forum and have not found the same excoriating posts about this version.

So have Acronis now managed to produce a version that I should lay out good money for? I have no plans to install Windows 8 for now so that compatibility issue will not influence my decision.

Thanks for advice.

Why it says this is my first post, I don't understand when all i did was change my email address.

Frankly, if your backup software is working on your system, and your recovery CD is allowing to recover your backups, stay with it. I like upgrading like everybody else, but the new versions (2012, 2013) have essentially introduced better driver behavior/support and the sync feature (which is a basic sync feature).
That said, 2013 is more stable and behaves better than 2012. If you decide to try, make sure you have a backup to go back to in case your are not happy. Uninstall your older version, and run the clean up utility if you have 2011. Then reboot and install the trial.
