Simple Question

Thread needs solution

What type of backup do I want so I can completely restore my C drive in the event of a melt down.....?
System? or Partition?

I backup to an external Hard Drive.

Thanks Bill

I create a partition image of my C volume, and then back up my D volume separately. But, ideally, if you only have one C volume, back up everything and in the event of a hardware failure of OS corruption, you can restore your system to the exact state it was in prior to your backup.

For maximum flexibility, checkmark the disk option as your choice for a backup. This will include all your partitions including any hidden or diagnostic partitions. Then when a restore is needed, the type of restore will be based on your needs. If you only want to restore the c partition to an existing drive you can but more importantly, if you need to restore to a new blank disk, you can do that also. Having a disk option backup offers you the best of both worlds.

Your needs are based a lot on your skil level. If new to TI, then do the disk option choice.
