Single SSD Win 8 image restore to RAID0?

Thread needs solution

I have Win8 installed on a single SSD and have now an identical second SSD which I intend to use in a RAID0 configuration together with the first one to double capacity and probably increasing speed.
Creating the RAID within the UEFI Bios is easy, True Image Home (pluspack) would also restore the image to the RAID, but Windows doesn't start. Automatic repair from the Win installation disk didn't help.
Intel Raid drivers have been installed prior image creation. So I had to restore back to the single SSD.
Is there a solution?

Are you using the Universal Restore option when restoring to your "new" hardware? When changing to "RAID" mode in the system firmware, the disk controllers used on your system appear as "new" hardware to the OS. The result is that the restored OS is still using the "old" controller device driver, even if you pre-installed the driver in Windows before the backup and restore operation. When using the Universal Restore option, you will need the correct (32 bit or 64 bit) drivers for the RAID controller available, so that Universal Restore can inject them into the restored image.

I have not been successful in restoring a backup created on my system in IDE mode, to my system set to AHCI or RAID mode when using Windows 8 and Universal Restore in 2013. This procedure works fine with Windows 7 from IDE to AHCI/RAID. I have reported my findings to Acronis, and have not heard anything about if this issue has been fixed.

If you are using Universal Restore and can not successfully restore from non-RAID to RAID, you should open a support case with Acronis to have them take a look at your case, as the reasons may be different than on my system.

There is no charge for restore/recovery issue support.
