Skip failed backup retry

Thread needs solution

If a backup fails, it reschedules itself in a few minutes. Because I often connect wirelessly or disconnect my backup drives, I do not necessarily want the backup to retry over and over again. But there is no way to cancel/skip the backup attempt! Once it is started, I cannot find anything to stop it. About the only thing that I can do is wait until it restarts and then "Suspend" the backup. That works, but it is annoying and goes against the whole philosophy of letting me be in control.

Any suggestions? Is there really a way to cancel a failed backup without waiting for it to re-run?

As a related issue, is there any way to skip a scheduled backup so that it does not start at all, but will resume the normal schedule for the next backup?

I had the same issue with failures - my backups run at night - I am asleep if the backup fails. Then it loops failing. One morning for example: the backup started to fail at 1:00AM; by 7:00AM I had 155 backup failure notifications... Flooded my mail server (blocked by them).
